| Fire protection systems for wood, white |
| In accordance with DIN 4102, wood is classified in the construction materials classification B2 as normally inflammable. After coating with BC-Brandschutz-Farbe (paint), most of the wooden materials satisfy the requirements of classification B1 (difficult to ignite). |
The coating of BC-Brandschutz-Farbe (paint) is applied in the interior parts of buildings and in areas without direct contact to the elements, e.g. where fire safety regulations demand construction material classification B1 and where one must expect a significant risk of fire. For example, this may be the case in public buildings, conference rooms, hospitals, schools, industrial buildings, power plants and building sites, etc.
In the event that fire resistance classifications F 30, F 60 or F 90 is required for wooden constructions, it is most commonly necessary to use panelling made of non-inflammable fire protection boards with official certification. |
