Tested joint seals in fireproof classified structural elements are therefore very important because in the event of a fire the predetermined fire resistance time of the walls and ceilings is maintained. RP 55 joint cord for indoor use, and for limited outdoor use*) (for F 30 to F 90 only one cord is required in most cases) Mineral fibre sealing cord (abbreviated to RP 55 joint cord) for joint seals in ceilings in fire resistance classes F 30 – F 120, and in bearing and non-bearing room sealing solid walls in fire resistance classes F 30 – F 120 according to DIN 4102 Part 4 – 03/1994 – conforming to the General Building Inspectorate Test Certificate P-SAC 02/III-209, valid until 24.07.2011. The RP 55 joint cord is a tested building material in Building Material Class A 1.
